The International Award program “World Castles Award”

Tudo começou em Setembro de 1999, surgiu a ideia pelo João Paulo CT4UW, em se lançar um Diploma de Monumentos Portugueses algo que inclui-se Castelos, Fortes, Fortalezas, Fortins, Muralhas, Ermidas, Pelourinhos, Cruzeiros, Aquedutos etc, como todos os membros ODXG da altura gostaram da ideia e estavam em sintonia, foi apenas uma questão de dias, e nascia assim em Outubro de 1999 o Diploma DMHP, ficando como seu Manager o CT4UW.

Durante 9 anos houve imensas activações D.M.H.P.  por parte dos membros fundadores ODXG, principalmente pelo CT4UW, CT1BY, CT1FMX, CT2GZE, CT1AXS, CT1EWA entre outros.

Era raro o fim-de-semana que não houvesse uma ou duas activações DMHP, foi esta a nossa escola de aprendizagem em activações fora de casa, ilhas Castelos, Faróis, corremos quase todo o País com o Rádio às costas. Em parte temos a agradecer ao saudoso CT4UW o muito que com ele fomos aprendendo.

Em 2009 as actividades pararam um pouco devido ao falecimento do seu criador (CT4UW SK-2008) e também por falta de tempo da parte dos restantes membros ODXG.

Em finais de 2009 foi decidido dar um passo em frente, e voltar ao activo com as activações, pois não morremos,  a nossa vontade ainda continua igual à do inicio, agora com uma pequena diferença, cada um de nós com o DXCC praticamente terminado, temos milhares que QSOs realizados, centenas de horas de Rádio e temos novos membros com sangue novo e vontade de fazer e aprender, esta na hora de retribuirmos o que antes alguém fez por nós!

Em 2010 já estamos a cumprir com o prometido e ira ser certamente um ano cheio de actividades, começamos pelo ponto mais alto da nossa região, Serra de Montejunto, activando quatro referencias ao mesmo tempo com quatro estações  e quando chegar o inicio da primavera as ilhas aguardam por nós.

O Diploma D.M.H.P Juntou-se agora em 2010 ao WORLD CASTLES AWARD - W.C.A. e obteve as suas referencias que agora contam para os dois Diplomas D.M.H.P e W.C.A.

Special thanks to friend Andrew RN1CW, por nos dar entrada neste programa Internacional, assim a ODXG Associação aumenta o interesse pelo Diploma a nível Mundial dando a conhecer ao Mundo e aos RADIOAMADORES os Monumentos Históricos Portugueses.

During 9 years there were plenty of activations D.M.H.P by the founding members ODXG, mainly by CT4UW, CT1BY, CT1FMX, CT2GZE, CT1AXS, CT1EWA among others.

It was rare the weekend, that was one or two activations D.M.H.P, that was our way of learntng outside the home,by activating, islands, castles, lighthouses, ran almost the entire country with the radio on his back. Partly we have to thanks the late CT4UW, for the things we have learning with him.

In 2009 the activities stopped a bit due to the death of it´s creator ( CT4UW  SK-2008 ) and also for lack of time from the remaining members of ODXG.

In late 2009 it was decided to take a step forward, and return to active with some activations, becouse we are not death, our will is still equal to the beginning, now with one small difference, every one of us with the DXCC almost finished, We have thousands QSOs made hundreds of hours of radio and we have new members with new blood and will to make things and learn, it's time to give back what once someone has done for us!

In 2010 we are already fulfilling the promise and will surely be a year full of activities, we begain at  the highest point of our region, Montejunto, activating four references at the same time with four stations and when the early spring start wait for us to activate some of the islands for P.I.P Award and some for valide for IOTA just wait and see.

In 2010 the Award D.M.H.P joined the WORLD CASTLES AWARD - W.C.A and obtained their references which now count for the two Diplomas D.M.H.P and W.C.A.

Special thanks to our friend Andrew RN1CW , for giving us the entry into this International Program,the ODXG Association  increases the interest in this Award By giving the World and to the Hams the Portugueses Historic Monuments.
